Very helpful video! The student was struggling and it makes me learn more, cause I find myself answering those questions and trying correct. Hope this guy was able to get passed his weaker areas and go on to get IFR certified. Thanks!
It's hard to imagine this guy passing the written test... How do you get to this point in your flying career without knowing the first thing about aviation weather? I would be embarrassed if this was my student
Nice video! However, asking questions and not providing feedback is not 100% useful and can lead to misinformation and misinterpretation. We all know that checkrides ask questions we don't need a video for that. What we do need is to listen to the questions, answer from student and ultimately feedback from instructor. Otherwise you can get other students confused that a wrong answer is actually correct. Unless one actually knows all of the answers but then they wont be needing a video for that.
This is very good knowledge testing not tormenting! 👍Good examiner.
Poor kid was drowning.
I get it’s a mock check ride to test his knowledge but dp wants to make sure you can find info given sources you can use in the check ride. As for the weather if he forgot a little something that’s coded he could press that decode button and that’d be acceptable.
"things that make you go hmmm", haha. I appreciate the student putting himself out there. There are plenty of videos of mock checkrides where students nail each question. This is very helpful to learn from. I hope and wish the student good luck and hope they prepare appropriately for the real thing and acting on IFR flight plans
this is a hard watch who let this man go into this knowing it was going to be on youtube
25:38 talking about clouds he says "man, I'm not there right now" I think he meant to say "I'm not prepared right now". Sad that one can't take anything from this due to an unprepared candidate.
I stopped watching when he was struggling with GRABCARD
Any place to get the list of requirements/questions the DPE is using during the Oral? I know it does not have the answers but it should be a list the DPE needs to go down and hit all the points.
Its not a map. Its a chart. They are different things.
ELT battery inspection????
Upon arriving craig, fly to IAF @5K' then fly published approach
7600 lost comm
I wish they picked a different student for this nobody learned anything from this video bummer
He is not exactly sure 😊
Not sure if this is the best item to listen to on your way to your check ride.
Biannual?
what reg reference could i use for this to back it up on my checkride? great video btw
Todd: Asks very basic question about cloud groups. Alex: "not lenticular... I don't think..." Todd: "and where would you find lenticular clouds?!". And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you start digging yourself into holes in a check ride.
Talked about lost comms for ten minutes and, unless I missed it, never made a single mention to squawk 7600... Big time fail. Also, boys and girls - if you're at a instrument oral exam and still can't fire off what's required for the development of a thunderstorm - then you're in the wrong place. This should be something you can recite in your sleep by ifr check ride time. I get that there's a lot of pressure with cameras and examiners firing off questions, but this looked more like someone who has spent more time in the rote recital of answers. The fact that he was allowed a note book with all the common acronyms right there at his disposal was shocking. I venture to think that if a real examiner probably wouldn't be too keen on that approach. If anything, it was good to hear basic questions from an examiner and kinda get a feel for what to expect. My check ride is in six days and after watching this - I feel prepared to do just fine.
All I know is that if you get on a jet in Florida you will get to California before you left !
Even a broken watch is right twice a day!
Didn't understand a word you said ! 😢 What time is it where I am at now? About that time! maybe a little later !
Very helpful that you for putting yourself out there
Did not Know Emas Cool
This shows me I need to get these details down!
Audio and video out of sync, like watching a Kung fu movie.
😂👍🏽
I hope this kid is not in the air with that knowledge
i think he just needs to be more confident in his answers and most importantly just answer the question stop adding extra information use the KISS acronym yall. Keep It Simple Stupid
50:27 I about died laughing at this guy. The student was utterly confused I'm sure
"They're the ones that get paid to lie" 🤣
41:19 hahahahahaha

clear explaination ever for the holding pattern. Thank you.
Spent hours on reading theory and Gold seal knocked it off in less than five mins 🌟
More ifr mocks please
Poor guy got sent through the murder board so unprepared.
These are really helpful! One thing I would add is when the student doesn’t know an answer, it would be fair if you can provide it instead of moving on. It helps solidify if the answer I’m thinking is correct. I know in the real world the DPE will not answer any question you don’t know but since this video is for training purposes it would help a ton. Thanks!
I'm curious if he actually passed his check ride
I don't understand the logic of posting a youtube video showing an unprepared student pilot taking the knowledge exam. I suppose it lets people know the sorts of questions that might be asked, but it does NOT tell us what the correct answers are. Most people searching for mock ppl checkrides are hoping to find something that actually increases our knowledge. Why anyone would watch an hour and a half of incorrect answers is beyond me.
Information in detail, easy to visualise, The Alien Squid Snail .. Thanks for the video.
This is the method I was taught and prefer. I hate using the rose and thumb methods, that may be useful for actual flying but not for a test.
Student is unsure about a lot of things. In y'all's professional opinion, would he have passed the practical exam?
great video , the 3D examples really helps !!
Could you please make a video with someone’s finger in the mag when the impulse coupling clicks, it would be good for education
So if the air intake in front of the engine gets iced up. What other source of air does the engine have
Alternate air door
@@llxlxllxlxllthank you!
my CFII said that the filterd air will automatically drop and you will get unfiltered air.
I thought the landing light is part of FLAPS. Min night vfr equipment?
It's not. L stands for landing gear position indicator.
Man. I feel so bad for this kid. He was a trooper for sitting through this.
Did he passed? It seems he’s not prepared
Only would know that from the debrief that was not included here.
